The control behind OpenLDAP syncrepl. A consumer tracks a provider using a per-entry syncCookie, either polling (refreshOnly) or holding a persistent session (refreshAndPersist). Delta-syncrepl layers change-logging on top to ship individual modifications instead of whole entries.
